Xiaomi Teases 25X Zoom on Redmi Note 8 Pro; Confirmed to Feature 64MP Camera

Xiaomi is set to launch Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphones on August 29. The Redmi is Note 8 is already confirmed to be powered by the recently launched MediaTek Helio G90T chipset under the hood while the Redmi Note 8 Pro is also confirmed to come with Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor on the camera department. Now, ahead of the official launch on August 29, Xiaomi has started teasing the Redmi Note 8 series officially and the company has shared a few of teasers on Weibo related to the handsets photography capabilities.

According to the company’s post on China’s micro-blogging site Weibo, the upcoming Redmi Note 8 camera will have an ability to retain impressive details at 25x zoom. Moreover, the phone will come equipped with a 64-megapixel camera, and it will offer up to 9248 x 6936 pixels resolution and support for Remosaic photos. Particularly, this resolution is close to two times that of 8K resolution and 17 times that of 2K resolution.

That said, the 64MP camera is not exclusive to Xiaomi, as another Chinese brand Realme and South Korena giant Samsung already confirmed to launch a smartphone with 64-megapixel primary sensor. Either way, that’s good news for consumers.

Going by the recent leaks and reports, the upcoming Redmi Note 8 Pro will feature a 64-megapixel camera sensor and a full-screen display with a waterdrop notch. Recently, the company’s CEO Lu Weibing teased a few highlighting features of the upcoming Redmi Note 8 series which include long battery life, better camera performance, higher screen-to-body ratio, and better feel in hand. There will be a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm audio jack and NFC support on both the devices, as per some reports. Furthermore, the Redmi Note 8 reportedly features Snapdragon 665 or Snapdragon 675.

Even though there is no confirmation on the India launch date of the Redmi Note 8 series, the company is likely to launch the Redmi Note 8 series in India sometime in Q4, 2019.
