After the announcement of Samsung’s foldable phone many smartphone brands are following the footsteps of a foldable concept phone. It is nowhere a surprise to see Xiaomi is also working on a foldable phone.Xiaomi shared a concept video of its upcoming foldable phone earlier which left with a many impressive features and how seamless the new design looked.Now the company issued a an official statement describing the foldable phone.
The company shared a statement to LetsGoDigital outlining the phone’s development and design. The company described how it si facing challenges with flexible display and folding mechanism and the way MIUI responds to this folding configuration. The statement also includes the display being developed in partnership with the supplier.
Along with this, the LetsGoDigital has published some really cool 3D renders of its futuristic foldable device based on the previous leaks. The website claims the MIUI skin seen on the renders are not final and might change when the phone’s ready for launch. The renders show a few iterations of the foldable phone, that the website called “Xiaomi Dual Flex” and “Xiaomi MIX Flex”The device has two folding sections that can bend backwards and can wrap behind the phone This shifts the UI to the middle screen which is the only usable area. When opened, the UI takes up the entire area and it looks like a tablet with thin bezels.
Interstingly, The renders doesn’t shows its camera . We speculate that there might be one behind the center section of the device, It’s also not clear whether the phone will come with a front camera, or Xioami will just allow users to fold one section of the screen back to take a selfie.
There is a button at the very top center of the phone while the bottom has a USB-C port.we can assume there is a earpiece at the top bezel of the phone as well.
Every smartphone manufacturer are ina race to bring their foldable phone with some unique feature and it is alreaday knoen that Samsung and Huawei are tipped to announce their foldable phones at MWC 2019 later this month. And the other OEMS like LG, Oppo and Xiaomi have confirmed they are working on phones with flexible displays.
