It’s no more a secret that Xiaomi-backed Redmi is working on the successor of Redmi Y2, named Redmi Y3. Recently, the company revealed that they will be launching the Redmi Y3 in India on April 24. Now, the Xiaomi Redmi Y3 quietly paid a visit at Geekbench and confirmed a few details about the chipsets and other key specifications.
As per the Geekbench listing, the Xiaomi Redmi Y3 will be powered by the “msm8953” motherboard, pointing towards a Snapdragon 625 chipset. However, MySmartPrice believes the processor identifier for the test device suggests the smartphone will actually come with a Snapdragon 632 chipset. The Redmi Y3 will be clubbed with 3GB of RAM and the device was running Android 9 Pie during the time of running the benchmark.
The smartphone achieved a single-core score of 1236 and a multi-core score of 4213. These scores are more or less equal to what the Redmi 7 achieved with the same SoC. Considering the older processor, the Redmi Y3 will likely to come with an affordable starting price.

Coming to the specifications of the Redmi Y3, it is expected to feature a 6.2-inch or a 6.3-inch a dot-notch display. Talking about the camera, the company already confirmed the 32-megapixels selfie shooter and it will be a huge upgrade to the predecessor. It could use Samsung’s GD1 32-megapixel sensor for the front camera setup, which offers HDR enhancement.
