Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, Redmi Note 8 Pro India Launch Teased On Twitter

Manu Kumar Jain, Xiaomi India Managing Director, has teased the India launch of the Redmi Note 8 series on Twitter. Yesterday, the company has launched the new Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphones in its home-country China and Redmi Note 8 Pro is the first smartphone to come equipped with a 64MP camera.

While the tweet doesn’t mention when the Redmi Note 8 series will be unveiled in the country, he mentioned that it might take up to 8 weeks to launch in India. However, we can expect exact details to start spilling over the next few days, as has become the norm these days.

His tweet reads, “We’ll do our best to bring them to India asap! However, certification & testing might take ~8 weeks. Will keep you posted. 8 weeks for #RedmiNote8!”. With this, Xiaomi has officially put out a word about the launch of the Redmi Note 8s series in India.

Redmi Note 8, Redmi Note 8 Pro Specifications and Price

The Redmi Note 8 handset will boast a 6.3-inch full-HD+ (1,080 x 2,340 pixels) display, mid-range Snapdragon 665 SoC, and up to 6GB of RAM. The phone will rock a 48-megapixel primary sensor coupled with an 8-megapixel 120-degree ultra-wide lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens and a 2-megapixel depth camera sensor for Portrait shots. While on the front, it has a 13-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling. It comes with a 4000mAh battery.

The Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphone is among the first to be powered by the recently launched MediaTek Helio G90T octa-core SoC paired with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB internal storage. Making sure everything ticks is a big 4,500mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging tech. The smartphone flaunts a 6.53-inch (1,080 x 2,340 pixels) display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and a screen-to-body ratio of 91.4 percent. Plus, both the front and back are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. For photography, the device comes with a quad-camera setup at the back. This setup consists of a 64-megapixel main camera, 8-megapixel wide-angle shooter and two 2-megapixel cameras. For selfies, there’s a 20-megapixel camera.

Redmi Note 8 price in China has been set at RMB 999 (approx. Rs 10,000) for the model with 4GB RAM /64GB storage configuration. The 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant costs RMB 1,199 (approx. Rs 12,000).

The Redmi Note 8 Pro, on the other hand, is priced at RMB 1,399 (approx. Rs 14,000) for the 6GB RAM and 64GB storage option. Thee is also a 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant which is priced at RMB 1,599 (approx. Rs 16,000). The top-end 8GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration costs RMB 1,799 (approx. Rs 18,000).
