We have already seen some reports on the Redmi Go edition smartphone. After the Redmi Note 7 which is the first company’s smartphone to boast 48 MP camera and now its turn for first Go Edition smartphone from the company. The new budget smartphone from the company which is probably called Redmi Go is speculated to an Android Go smartphone.
Recently this device has been certified in a number of markets. Just a few days back it received certification in Thailand making the launch inevitable. Now it looks like this device could launch first in the Philippines.As per a new teaser posted on official facebook of Xioami Philippines about the Redmi Go suggesting the smartphone could make its debut soon.
The post comes with the hashtag #GoSmartDoMore.Where the teaser doesn’t reveal any details of the name of the phone or a launch date, besides this a tipster Slashleaks has tweeted out full specifications list as well as Redmi Go render. The poster also comes with a tag line Go Smart, Do More hinting that both are the same devices.
Xiaomi Redmi Go specifications
As per the listing, The Redmi Go is expected to be an entry-level phone. It is likely to feature toned down RAM and Internal storage. And also it is not to feature a rear-facing speaker.
Speaking about specifications, The device will feature a 5-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. As it is an Android Go smartphone, it is likely to arrive with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage space. It is expected to arrive with a dedicated microSD card slot supporting a maximum of 128GB of expandable storage space.
For imaging, The device got a single rear and front camera setup. This includes an 8MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, LED flash and HDR. The selfie camera is likely to be a 5MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture. The render shows that the rear camera will be placed at the top left corner.
For a battery, There is a 3000mAh battery could power the smartphone along with a 5V/1A charger. On software, as this is an Android Go smartphone, it runs Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition) instead of Android Pie (Go Edition). Redmi Go will be available in black and blue colour options.
For connectivity,The device includes a Bluetooth 4.1, a micro USB port, single-band WiFi, 4G LTE and dual-SIM support. The dual VoLTE and dual 4G.
For now, there is no word regarding the pricing of the new budget smartphone. But it is expected the price in India is under Rs. 5,000. And the launch is expected in the first quarter of 2019.
