Earlier this week, Xiaomi unveiled its new entry-level smartphone, Redmi 8A in India, which is a successor of the Redmi 7A. Now, it seems the company is gearing up to launch the Pro version of the Redmi 8A, dubbed as Redmi 8A Pro as the phone has been spotted on the company’s website.
According to the report, the upcoming Redmi 8A Pro has been spotted on the RD exposure page on Xiaomi’s official website hinting at the imminent launch. Sadly, there is no information available regarding its specifications and the launch date. If the report is to be believed, this will be the first Redmi A series smartphone to get Pro variant.
To recall, the Redmi 8A launched in India with a 6.22-inch HD+ display that has 19:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, it is fueled by Snapdragon 439 SoC with 2GB/3GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of storage. The internal storage of the phone is also expandable up to 512GB through MicroSD card.
It features a single 12-megapixel Sony IMX 363 sensor with f/1.8 aperture and Dual Pixel Autofocus on the rear side. There is a 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling. Both the front and rear cameras on Redmi 8A are also capable of taking AI Portrait mode shots.
Ticking all these is a massive 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging. It also comes with USB Type-C port. The device runs on MIUI 10, which is based on Android 9.0 Pie.
