After a few years, Xiaomi entered the Indian tablet market again. Its new Xiaomi Pad 5 Android tablet has been unveiled in the country with impressive specs such as a high refresh rate, Snapdragon processor, support for a smartpen, large screen, etc. The all-new Xiaomi Pad 5 will compete against tablets such as Motorola Tab G70, Samsung Galaxy Tab A8, and even the entry-level iPad, the iPad (9th Gen).
Xiaomi Pad 5 Price in India, Availability
Xiaomi Pad 5 has been launched in India in two storage configurations: 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and a 6GB RAM + 256GB storage. The base variant with 128GB storage is priced at Rs 26,999 while the 256GB storage model costs Rs 28,999.
It will go on sale via Amazon, Mi.com, and Mi stores across India from May 3. Buyers can also get Rs 2,000 additional on an HDFC bank credit card.
The 128GB will be offered for an introductory price of Rs 24,999, while the 256GB will be priced at Rs 26,999. However, this offer is only valid until May 7th. The keyboard and smartpen will be sold separately.
Xiaomi Pad 5 Specifications
In terms of the display, the Xiaomi Pad 5 features a 10.95-inch 2.5K LCD screen with a 2560 × 1600 pixels screen resolution, up to 650 nits of brightness, a 120Hz screen refresh rate, and also a DCI-P3 colour gamut. It is also the only tablet in this price range that supports Dolby Vision.
The Pad 5 comes with a Snapdragon 860 octa-core chipset built on a 7nm process along with the Adreno 640 GPU, 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 internal storage. The device is powered by an 8720mAh battery unit and supports a 22.5W fast charging, but also supports 33W fast charging.
In terms of build quality, the tablet is made up of aluminium and galactic materials, which is a combination of glass and plastic. The tab weighs 511 grams and is just 6.85mm thick. The tablet is equipped with a quad-speaker setup as well as support for Dolby Atmos and also Hi-Res audio certification. It lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack.
There is a 13MP sensor on the back and an 8MP front-facing camera. Additionally, the device comes with a Mi smart Pen (stylus not included in the box), a speaker channel mapping feature, which will flip speakers as you flip the tab, a laminated display for better stylus usage, and 24-bit/192khz audio support.
Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi, and a USB Type-C port with OTG support. Software-wise, it ships with MIUI for Pad based on Android 12.
