Xiaomi had announced its new mid-range smartphone Redmi Note 7, under its new sub-brand. Now Xiaomi is all set to launch the flagship Mi 9 in China on February 20. The company has now officially announced a launch event on 20th February, China where the company will launch its flagship Mi 9 smartphone.
The Mi 9 was spotted on Geekbench last month and the listing suggested that the Xiaomi Mi 9 will run on Android Pie, pack a 6GB RAM just like its predecessor. The new processor Snapdragon 855 SoC that was unveiled last year will be included in this phone. In Geekbench, the Mi 9 scored 3158 points in single-core test and 11174 points in multi-core test.
The device has received the 3C certification, so it is expected to support 27W fast charging. It is tipped to run on Xioami’s own MIUI 10 which is based on Android Pie.
Recently, a leak showed a prototype Mi 9 in the hands of Xiaomi’s Product Director, Wang Teng. Based on the previous rumors, the Mi 9 will be a flagship smartphone powered by Qualcomm ‘s Snapdragon 855 chipset. It is expected to feature a 6.24-inch display and a 48-megapixel + 12-megapixel + 3D ToF lens in its triple camera setup on the rear. Up front, it might feature a 24-megapixel camera. There is a possibility that under display fingerprint scanner will be also available on the phone. The handset could be powered by a 3500mAh battery. We can expect trending waterdrop notched display on Mi 9 or the company could opt a slider display similar to the Mi Mix 3.
