The twitter caption reads “Xiaomi & Qualcomm have always worked together to bring the latest & the best!” However, he did not reveal the launch date of the phone but he did mention that the smartphone will be launching in India soon.
A few days ago, a Redmi device was leaked and revealed few key specs. The leak revealed the smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 730 SoC, a 4000mAh battery, pop-up selfie camera and has a triple camera setup (48MP + 8MP + 13MP).
To recall, Qualcomm recently announced the Snapdragon 730 processor and it borrows a few key elements from the top-end Snapdragon 855 processor. These features include a Tensor Accelerator for improved machine learning, the computer vision ISP (CV-ISP), Wi-Fi 6, and support for 192MP snapshots. The processor also supports 4K video recording in portrait mode at 60 fps.
Unfortunately, no further details about the smartphone are available at the moment. We should have more details in the coming weeks, but it sure does look like Xiaomi will be launching a phone with a Snapdragon 700 series smartphone.
