Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi have been teasing the 100-megapixel camera technology from quite some time, but today, Xiaomi has confirmed that an upcoming Mi MIX Alpha smartphone will feature 100MP camera and shared some details. The company is launching the Mi 9 Pro 5G and other products in an event in home country China. Besides these products, Xiaomi is also launching the next generation MIX series phone, called the Mi MIX Alpha.
Not just that, Xiaomi has also shared few image samples of the 100-megapixel camera phone Mi MIX Alpha. At present, the few companies have the smartphones with 64-megapixel cameras. This will be the first smartphone to launch with the 100MP camera setup.
Samsung Samsung Bright HMX is a 108 MP camera sensor and is the first mobile sensor to go beyond 100 million pixels and is also the first mobile image sensor to adopt a large 1/1.33-inch size. This is the result of close collaboration between Xiaomi Corp. and Samsung.
As we mentioned, Xiaomi has also shared a camera samples of the 100-megapixel camera phone Mi MIX Alpha. The shared image has a resolution of 12032 x 9024 pixels and it is 40 MB in size. The company claims that even when the photo is zoomed 8 times, the details remain clear.

Other specs and features of the Mi MIX Alpha are not known yet but given that it is scheduled to launch on September 24 in China, we should know more tomorrow. The devive is rumored to feature 2K display having 90 Hz refresh rate, Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus octa-core processor paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and 1 TB storage. It is worth to mention that the Xiaomi is also unveiling the MIUI 11 in the same launch event.
