After numerous leaks and rumors, the launch event date for the forthcoming Mi 9T has been officially confirmed. Xiaomi has now officially confirmed that it will be launching the Xiaomi Mi 9T smartphone on June 12.
Xiaomi took to Twitter to announce the launch saying “Only 10 days left! The new #Mi9 member will launch on June 12th! Are you ready for more innovation for everyone from #Mi9T? #PopUpInStyle”.
The company’s official Twitter post does not say anything about the Mi 9T, which is tipped to be a rebranded Redmi K20 and was spotted alongside on Geekbench today.
Xiaomi Mi 9T specifications
As we mentioned earlier, the Xiaomi Mi 9T will be rebranded Redmi K20. Jumping straight to the specifications, it will be powered by the Snapdragon 730 SoC and will also feature an in-display fingerprint sensor. The handset will sport 6.39-inch AMOLED display that supports full HD+ resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. In the imaging department, the Xiaomi Mi 9T will reportedly feature a 48-megapixel Sony IMX582 rear camera accompanied by a 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom support and a 13-megapixel ultrawide lens. The device will feature 20MP pop-up selfie camera.
According to a listing by the Italian e-commerce site, the Xiaomi Mi 9T will launch in Carbon Black, Glacier Blue and Flame Red color variants. It is tipped to arrive in three storage configurations, with the base 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant carrying a price tag of $403 (roughly Rs. 27,918). The 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and the top-end 8GB RAM + 256GB storage version of Xiaomi Mi 9T will be priced at $426 (roughly Rs. 29,511) and CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs. 34,568) respectively.
