Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro, Mi 8 Lite Launched in China – Global Debut Expected Soon

Xiaomi added the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite and Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro to the list of Mi 8 series by launching it in China on this Wednesday. The Mi 8 Pro comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner, whereas Mi 8 Lite is a new mid-range phone from the company with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The Mi 8 Pro will go on sale on September 21.

Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite Specifications

Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite features a notch and a glass back panel with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The device sports a 6.26-inch full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and a 2.5D curved glass on top. Mi 8 Lite is powered by the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor and It comes with three RAM and storage variants: 4GB+64GB, 6GB+64GB, and 6GB+128GB.

Coming to the camera department, the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite comes with a dual camera setup with 12-megapixel primary shooter and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. Up front, there is a 24.8-megapixel camera for better selfies and video calls. The device ships with the MIUI based on Android 8.1 Oreo and it is backed by 3,350mAh battery.

The connectivity options of the Xiaomi Mi 8 include 4G LTE, VoLTE, dual-SIM slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB Type-C, and A-GPS with GLONASS.

The Mi 8 Lite is available in two variants: 6GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB priced at CNY 1,699 (approx. Rs 18,000) and CNY 1,999 (approx. Rs 21,100) respectively.

Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro Specifications

Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro has a 6.21-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 2248 x 1080p and an aspect ratio of 18.7:9. The Mi 8 Pro comes with a notched display and runs on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor paired with LPDDR4X RAM.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Mi 8 holds dual camera setup: 12MP + 12MP dual rear cameras with 1.4-micron pixel, 4-axis OIS. The camera setup consists of a wide-angle lens and a telephoto lens with f/1.8 and f/2.4 aperture rate respectively and an LED flash. On the front, the device is acquired by a 20MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture.

For connectivity, the device supports Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi, dual-frequency GPS, USB Type-C, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, A-GPS, GLONASS among others. The Mi 8 Pro is backed by a 3400 mAh battery. The Mi 8 Pro available in white, blue, gold and black color options.

The Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro 6GB variant has been priced at CNY 3199 (approx. Rs 33,800), whereas the 8GB variant has been priced at CNY 3,599 (approx. Rs 38,000).
