Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer gets 960fps mode and Super Night Scene

If you are owning Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer then you can do wonders in photography with its latest update. The handset is receiving a new version of MIUI OS 10, which brings two major improvements in its camera. The new ROM – MIUI V10.1.2.0.PEHCNFI – runs on the Android 9 Pie, and it has a 2.1 GB update. For now, the update rolled out in phases for the consumers in China, and it will be available on all smartphones in a few days.

Speaking about the improvements, The first improvement is in its video mode of the smartphone that now changed to the all-new 960 fps video mode is available on the handset. This mode is present in all major premium smartphones.

Secondly, The update is  Super Night Scene Mode. What does it do? The new feature thrills you, where it combines eight different photographs at different exposures to create a brighter, higher-quality shot. This feature may be an attempt by Xiaomi to compete with OnePlus 6T and Pixel 3 and 3 XL.

This mode was first introduced to the Xiaomi Mi 8 and Mi Mix 2S with MIUI 10.8.11.8 in early November and they got the 960fps mode about a week after that. Where these features were debut on the Mi Mix 3.

Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Mi  8 Explorer features a Super AMOLED touchscreen measured at 6.21 inch. It is powered by y Qualcomm’s high-end Snapdragon 845 chipset with Adreno 630 graphics processing unit coupled by a 6GB with 64GB storage. On camera, It houses a dual rear camera set-up of a primary 12MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a secondary 12MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The 20MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture on the Mi 8 also features Artificial Intelligence such as AI beautify mode and AI portrait selfies.

The Xiaomi Mi 8 runs on MiUI 10.0 skin while the OnePlus 6 runs on Oxygen OS 5.1.1. Backed by a 3400 mAh battery.
