Xiaomi Mi 11 launch date revealed; Snapdragon 888 SoC and 12GB RAM expected

After a barrage of leaks and rumors, Xiaomi has officially confirmed to take the wraps off its Mi 11 in China on December 28. The Mi 11 lineup, which is expected to include Mi 11 and Mi 11 Pro, appeared online on several occasions, finally got the launch date.

According to the official Weibo post by Xiaomi, the Mi 11 will be announced in China at 7:30 pm CST Asia (5 pm IST) on December 28. And it could arrive globally a couple of weeks after the initial launch (sometime in early 2021). The company has not yet confirmed any details regarding the launch of Mi 11 Pro.

The Xiaomi Mi 11 price is likely to be priced somewhere between CNY 3,999 and 4,499 (approx. Rs. 45,100 and 50,700) while the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro is expected to retail between CNY 5,299 and 5,499 (approx. Rs. 60,000 and 62,000).

Earlier this month, at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit 2020, CEO Lei Jun said that the Xiaomi Mi 11 will be the company’s first phone to come with the Snapdragon 888 SoC. Recently, the Xiaomi Mi 11 was spotted on the Geekbench listing with a model number Xiaomi M2011K2C, which shed light on the key specifications. Going by the same, the upcoming smartphone is believed to arrive with an ARM Venus chipset, Android 11 OS, and 12GB RAM. 

Besides this, the device is also said to flaunt a 6-inch QHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, triple rear camera setup with a 108-megapixel primary sensor, 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle shooter, and a 5-megapixel telephoto shooter.

The other rumors that we have been coming across surrounding the Mi 11 include the presence of a hole-punch display, a curved display, thin bezels, Snapdragon 888 SoC, Adreno 660 GPU, and a 2,390mAh battery along with 55W charging support (bundled).
