Xiaomi Mi 11 global launch is scheduled for February 8th, the company has officially revealed. To recall, the brand has announced the Mi 10 smartphone in China back last month. For now, there is no confirmation on the India launch.
Xiaomi has sent out invites for the launch event that will take place at 1 pm CET (5:30 pm IST) on February 8. The launch event can be live-streamed through YouTube, Facebook, and other social media handles. The brand is likely to launch the Chinese version of the Xiaomi Mi 11 in the global market as well. So, the specifications of the global version is going to be the same.
Earlier, it was reported that the MIUI 12.5 will be announced alongside the Mi 11. But, Xiaomi deleted MIUI 12.5 global launch event post shortly after the announcement. The brand could make an official announcement again in the coming days. While there is no confirmation yet, it is expected that the Chinese smartphone maker will launch the Mi 11 and Mi 11 Pro globally at the event.
Mi 11 Specifications
Mi 11 comes with a 6.81-inch 2K WQHD (1,440×3,200 pixels) AMOLED display. The panel also supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a 480Hz touch sampling rate. This display has 1500 nits of peak brightness, 5000000:1 contrast ratio, and 515ppi of pixel density. Further, the display of the Mi 11 offers a DCI-P3 colour gamut as well as supports HDR10+ and Motion Estimation, Motion Compensation (MEMC).
It is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It is backed by a 4,600mAh battery pack that supports Mi TurboCharge 55W wired and 50W wireless charging. There is also 10W wireless reverse charging support.
The punch-hole on Mi 11’s display is the home for its 20-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear side of the phone features a triple camera unit. It consists of a 108-megapixel primary camera sensor with OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation), a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera sensor, and a 5-megapixel macro sensor.
The handset boots MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11 OS out of the box. The Mi 11 also features stereo speakers with sound tuned by Harman Kardon. The device is fitted with an in-display fingerprint sensor that doubles as a heart rate monitor. The phone also features NFC, Wi-Fi 6E support, and can connect to two Bluetooth headsets together.
Connectivity options on the smartphone include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, Infrared (IR), and a USB Type-C port.
