In February, Xiaomi launched the Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro in China. Months later, Xiaomi officially announced that these phones will launch in India on March 31. But the launch event was postponed due Coronavirus outbreak in the country. Now, the brand has revealed that it will launch the Mi 10 smartphone with a 108-megapixel camera in India on May 8.
Xiaomi India head, Manu Kumar Jain on his Twitter handle disclosed the India launch date of the Mi 10. The Tweet reads “Mi fans, here’s the date you all have been waiting for.#Mi10 is launching on MAY 8. And…we’ve more than the #108MP phone lined up for you. The Mi 10 smartphone debuted in China with a starting price of 3999 Yuan (approx. Rs 42,385). However, the company VP Manu Kumar Jain earlier said that the pricing may differ in the wake of the GST hike on mobile phones in India.
Xiaomi Mi 10 specifications
It features a 6.67-inch full-HD+ curved AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, 90Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch sampling rate. It has a peak brightness of 1,120 nits and offers a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio. Under the hood, there is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC and it is paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage.
In the camera department, there is a quad rear camera setup on the rear that comprises of a 108-megapixel main camera with a 7-element lens, 1/1.33-inch sensor, and OIS support. It is paired with a 13-megapixel wide-angle lens with a 123-degree field of view and f/2.4 aperture. It also sports a pair of 2-megapixel cameras with f/2.4 lenses. The handset is capable of recording 8K videos at a resolution of 7,680×4,320 pixels. The punch-hole houses a single 20-megapixel selfie shooter.
It packs a 4,780mAh battery that supports 30W wired charging and 30W wireless charging. The phone also supports 10W reverse wireless charging. It runs Android 10-based MIUI 11. It supports dual-mode 5G (SA + NSA) and Wi-Fi 6 standards.
