The much-awaited Xiaomi Redmi 6 series is prepping up to arrive India soon, the company rolling out invites for its India launch. The Redmi 6A, 6, and 6 Pro will go official in India on September 5. India head Manu Kumar Jain tweeted a teaser that reveals ‘Desh Ke Naye Smartphones’ are ‘coming very soon’. The company has used the same tagline to promote Redmi 5A last year implies the affordability of upcoming phone.
The tweet features a short animated video that details the number ‘6’ and shows the sketch of three devices in the background. By the video, it seems quite obvious that Xiaomi plans to launch the Redmi 6, Redmi 6A, and the Redmi 6 Pro in India.
Notably, the Redmi 5 phone eventually became the best selling phone in our country. Among the three the Redmi 6A is only one that houses an Apple iPhone X-like notch at the top. Rest of devices are sporting a tall display with thin bezels on the side, which will be the Redmi 6 and the Redmi 6A.
Speaking about specifications, the Redmi 6 and 6A share similar specs and features with minor changes. Both the smartphones flaunt a 5.45-inch HD+ 18:9 display.coming to chipsets, The Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 will be powered by MediaTek Helio A22 and Helio P22, respectively. These are new MediaTek chipsets that aim to bring AI to entry-grade phones.
Another main difference is on the camera front, The Redmi 6 features a dual-camera setup (12-megapixel+5-megapixel) at the back, while the Redmi 6A features a single 13-megapixel sensor. And Redmi 6 comes with a physical fingerprint sensor, but the Redmi 6A comes with face unlock feature instead.
Apart from this almost all specs are same as both phones sports a 5-megapixel selfie camera, 3,000mAh battery, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, Bluetooth, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi and GPS.

Among the three the Redmi 6 pro is the high-end phone with top features. The handset flaunts a 5.84-inch full HD+ display with 19:9 aspect ratio. The notch houses the front camera, earpiece and proximity sensors. It is hooked by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC clocked at 2GHz.
For snappers, The smartphone comes with a dual-camera setup at the back comprising a 12-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture, and a 5-megapixel secondary depth sensor. On the front, it sports a 5 megapixel for selfies and video calling. It is fuelled with a 4,000mAh battery. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 10 skin on top.
Redmi 6 Pro, Redmi 6A, Redmi 6 price in India
These three phones are expected to come in 6,000 and 9,000 INR price segment in India. The Redmi 6 pro comes with the same price as Realme 2 which was unveiled recently.
