Chinese smartphone major, Xiaomi is about to launch its new flagship smartphone with 48-megapixel sensor camera smartphone is expected to come in January 2019. The company’s president Lin Bin had shared an image of an upcoming Xiaomi smartphone with the 48-megapixel rear camera through Weibo. He also confirmed that the handset will be released in January 2019.
AS per the image shared by the Bin, The new smartphone could feature either Sony’s IMX586 sensor with effective 48-megapixels with minute 0.8-micron pixels or Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright GM1 (or both). And this could very well end up having the world’s first smartphone with a 48-megapixel camera.
We cannot speculate any more details about the phone from the image. The Image only tells us that phone is expected to launch this January, which, if it does, would make the device the first 48-megapixel phone camera in the world. The image doesn’t reveal any information about the sensors number but does show the camera will be raised a little.
The upcoming phone is about to break the record previous mega-pixel which held by Nokia’s Lumia 1020 which had a 41-megapixel camera sensor. Recent Huawei Mate 20 Pro and P20 Pro maxing out at 40 megapixels. Already this brand is the most grossing smartphone brand in India and if everything goes well this megapixel beast could come earlier than we expect.
According to the picture posted by Lin Bin, it will have a vertical camera with LED flash. And we speculate that the phone features more than one sensor, seeing how an increasing number of Android phones feature at least two rear cameras.
As per talks with Manu Kumar Jain, Xiaomi India Head, the new phone could also land in India. Manu had said that the company is planning to launch a new phone with Snapdragon 675 processor in 2019. The Snapdragon 675 can support a 48-megapixel camera and it is likely that both Manu and Lin are talking about the same phone.
