Xiaomi 12S, 12S Pro, 12S Ultra launched with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1

Xiaomi introduced the 12S series in China. The Chinese brand has unveiled three new flagships: Xiaomi 12S Ultra, Xiaomi 12S Pro, and the Xiaomi 12S. All three devices pack Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipsets. In addition, the company unveiled the Xiaomi 12 Pro Dimensity Edition along with the Mi Smart Band 7 Pro fitness tracker.

The Xiaomi 12S comes with a 6.28-inch full-HD+ display with 1,080×2,400 pixels screen resolution, up to 120Hz refresh rate, DCI-P3 colour gamut, 1100 nits of brightness, and up to 240Hz touch sampling rate. Furthermore, the display supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+ and has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.

Under the hood, it is equipped with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, coupled with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

This phone has a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel Sony IMX707 primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens that supports OIS, plus a 13-megapixel ultra-wide shooter and a macro shooter. The front of the device has a 32-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.4 lens.

Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Additionally, there is an IR Blaster and a stereo speaker setup. The device features a 4,500mAh battery and offers 67W wired, 50W wireless, and 10W reverse wireless charging support.

The Xiaomi 12S Pro has a 6.73-inch 2K curved AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1,440×3,200 pixels, up to 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and DCI-P3 colour gamut. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. 

Xiaomi 12S Pro is powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and comes with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB UFS 3.1 storage.

It has a triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX707 primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide shooter, and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom support. In the front, you’ll find a 32-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.4 lens.

Powered by a 4,600mAh battery, the Xiaomi 12S Pro supports 120W wired, 50W wireless, and 10W reverse wireless charging. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.

This smartphone has a 6.73-inch 2K AMOLED micro-curved display with 1,440×3,200 pixels screen resolution, up to 120Hz refresh rate, LTPO 2.0 technology, up to 240Hz touch sampling rate, and a maximum of 1,500 nits of brightness. The display has Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support and has a DCI-P3 colour gamut.

The Xiaomi 12S Ultra is powered by Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, along with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

There is a triple camera setup on the back of the phone, which consists of a 50-megapixel 1-inch Sony’s IMX989 primary sensor with an f/1.9 lens and OIS support, a 48-megapixel telephoto camera sensor, and a 48-megapixel ultra-wide shooter. Additionally, there is a laser autofocus sensor and an LED flash module. A 32-megapixel camera is located on the front of the device.

In terms of connectivity, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra has 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. In addition, the phone has an in-display fingerprint sensor that also doubles as a heart-rate sensor and also has an IR blaster.

It is powered by a 4,860mAh battery that supports 67W wired and 50W wireless charging. Additionally, the phone supports 10W reverse wireless charging. The device is IP68-rated.

Xiaomi 12 Pro Dimensity Edition Specifications

There are no changes to the specifications of the Xiaomi 12 Pro Dimensity Edition compared to the earlier model except that it has a Dimensity 9000+ processor. It’s the first smartphone to feature this processor. Additionally, it has a larger 5,160mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging.
