WhatsApp Suspicious Link Detection Feature is Live – Here’s How You Can Get It

WhatsApp is finally back with a feature to stop spamming links. The new WhatsApp beta v2.18.221 has the feature to detect a ‘Suspicious Link’ whenever a contact sends one to you. This feature is first spotted by WABetaInfo. According to this feature, users will get a warn about the suspicious link before they open it. Even with the label, if a user still clicks on the link, it will display a message “Suspicious Link” and the suspicious character is highlighted in the dialogue box that appears when you try to open the link. As for now, this feature isn’t available for both iOS and Windows Phone users. So, the Windows and iOS users will have to wait for a while to get this feature.

How to Get the New Suspicious Link Detection Feature on WhatsApp?

The WhatsApp suspicious link detection feature is currently available on the latest version of WhatsApp beta. You need to install WhatsApp beta v2.18.221 on your device in order to remotely receive the activation of the Suspicious Link Detection feature. Even after installing this version still you are not able to figure out the suspicious link detected feature on WhatsApp then, you may need to reinstall the WhatsApp, don’t forget to take backup of your chats before reinstalling WhatsApp.

Note that, to download WhatsApp beta version from Play Store you have to be a part of their beta tester. If you are not one of the beta testers then head over to Play Store and search for WhatsApp. Click on it and scroll down. You will find an option named “Become a Tester. Now tap on the “Become a Tester” button to enroll yourself into the WhatsApp beta testing program. It may take a few minutes. If you are not interested to be a part of the WhatsApp beta tester program still want to check out the suspicious link feature then download and install WhatsApp beta v2.18.221 from the third-party link here. Still, we are not sure installing this apk will get you the suspicious link detecting feature as this testing was limited to a very small number of beta users.
