WhatsApp users are in Dire Straits now. Many users around the globe are complaining that they are facing issues while sending messages on WhatsApp and some are also reporting that they are not able to download any images/videos.
On the other hand, Facebook and Instagram are also experiencing some technical errors. Many people are not able to find or see images in the stories and the timeline. This may be because of some technical glitches in the Facebook servers.
Facebook did not respond about this outage till now and yet to confirm the reason for this. The estimated time for these issues to be fixed is also still unknown.
Meanwhile, Twitter is flooded with the posts of people complaining about this crash. More than 15k people tweeted in the last one four with the hashtag #whatsappdown.

Facebook confirmed the issue that many users are not able to download or send images on all the three platforms on its official Twitter account. It also told that this will be resolved as soon as possible and the reason is still unknown.

Based on the outage map shared by Down Detector which indicates that South America and Europe are the most affected with this issue. It also shows that India is not majorly affected by the outage.
[4th July Update] In the early morning today after a 9 hours long time – Facebook confirmed that the issue is resolved and back at 100% for everyone. The reason for this down is not yet revealed by the company and still, remain unknown.

The same issue was observed earlier in the month of March. Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp experienced downtime which lasted for hours. Facebook also confirmed the reason for that was a server configuration change.
