Vivo has managed to offer a complete edge-to-edge display experience without the notch, and negligibly thin bezels. With full HD+ resolution, 2316×1080 pixels and a taller 19.3:9 aspect ratio. The Vivo worked best in its unique front camera placement. Instead of going with notch design which trending now, Vivo has managed to fit the camera within the module of the phone at the top, which pops up whenever needed.
Vivo Nex packs a front camera with a motorized module that opens and closes while clicking a selfie. This selfie camera is an 8-megapixel unit with the fixed aperture of f/2.0 integrated. Where’s the earpiece?
Not only the popup camera is the only futuristic design element that Vivo has incorporated to achieve the bezel-less form factor. Vivo had to make way for newer technologies, and this meant removing the earpiece too. Now you got a question, how can it transmit audio? Well, Vivo does that by using ‘Screen SoundCasting’ technology that converts your entire display into a speaker. It works on the principle of bone conduction technology. The in-call audio quality sounds different at first as compared to a traditional earpiece. The phone also indicates you to position your ear at a specific spot for better audio output during a call.
In-display fingerprint scanner
Present for unlocking the smartphone most of them rely on finger fingerprint scanners, and now face unlock is getting popular. Vivo did it in an innovative way biometric-authentication is the in-display fingerprint scanning. The Vivo X21 was the first commercial smartphone to come with the tech, and now the same continues with the NEX as well. The Nex comes with a circular area where you have to place your finger to unlock the smartphone.
As far as other specifications are considered, The handset is powered by Qualcomm’s top of the line processor i.e. Snapdragon 845. The chipset has been paired with 8GB of RAM and 128/256GB of internal storage. It bears a dual camera set up at the back with a primary 12-MP f/1.8 sensor and a secondary 5-megapixel one for depth.
