Vivo launches “Y81” in 4GB Variant and Helio P22 Soc in India

Vivo, a Chinese manufacturer unveiled the 4Gb variant of Vivo Y81 in India today. The smartphone with fingerprint unlocking and “FullView” display 2.0 in India at Rs 13,490. Back in August, Vivo launched the 3Gb variant of Y81 for Rs 11,390 with a 6.22-inch screen and fueled by MediaTek OctaCore (Helio P22) processor. The Smartphone will be available through Vivo India’s e-store, Paytm Mall, as well as offline retail stores across India.

Apart from extra Ram, the smartphone flaunts similar design and features of Original version. Vivo has also announced festive offers on its other Y-Series smartphones including Y71i, Y83Pro, Y81 and the newly launched Y81 4GB variant.

“We want to continue the momentum and further enhance the customer experience by kick-starting the festive season with offers that add to the happiness to our consumers,” Jerome Chen, Chief Marketing Officer, Vivo India said in a statement.

Apart from launch offers, the company is also bringing exciting cashback offers, no cost EMI options and Jio vouchers and offers both, online and offline.

All these devices have been manufactured at Vivo’s Greater Noida facility, as a part of “Make in India” initiative.

Moving to the specifications, The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 chipset and comes with 32GB of internal storage. The smartphone sports a 6.22-inch HD+ ‘FullView’ notch display with a resolution of 720×1520 pixels. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box, with Vivo’s Funtouch OS overlay baked on top.

On Optics, Y81″ sports a  single 13MP rear and 5MP front camera with modes including HDR, portrait bokeh, Artificial Intelligent (AI)-face beauty, palm capture and group selfie.

The smartphone packs a battery of 3260 mAh. All standard connectivity options are included as in the original version. The smartphone is available in two colours – black and gold.
