Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is gearing up to launch its next 5G smartphone as a new device has been spotted on Chinese certification site TENAA, suggesting that we might be inching closer to the launch. However, the company is yet to revealed any information regarding the same.
As per the listing on TENAA, this unannounced Redmi phone has a model number of M2004J7AC with 5G support. The device is running on Android 10 operating system. Further, the phone sports a 6.57-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) OLED display. Even though the listing doesn’t reveal the processor name, it is mentioned that the phone will come with an octa-core chipset with a CPU frequency of 2.6GHz. It is likely to be the Dimensity 800 or Dimensity 800+ chipset. The phone is listed on TENAA in three storage and RAM models: 4GB + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB. There will be a microSD card slot for further expansion of storage up to 2TB.

In the camera department, the phone features a quad camera setup consisting of a 48MP primary sensor. Also, it is listed to come with 16MP selfie snapper on the front. The selfie camera is housed in a notch. The volume buttons and the power button are visible on the right edge of the phone. The battery capacity is listed at 4,420mAh and it is said to measure 164.15×75.75×8.99mm and weigh 206 grams. Going by the TENAA listing, the smartphone will be launched in blue, black, green, pink, red, silver, and white color options.
Unfortunately, not much else is known about this Redmi 5G phone at the moment and the TENAA listing does not reveal any other information. We expect the company to soon announce the launch date for this 5G smartphone.
