TikTok-owner Bytedance Unveils its First Flagship Smartphone Powered by Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC

Earlier this year, it was reported that TikTok owner ByteDance is working on a smartphone to launch in the home country China. Today, the company has unveiled its first smartphone named Smartisan Jianguo Pro 3 aka Nut Pro 3 (translated) which is powered by the Snapdragon 855+ SoC. The phone features quad cameras on the rear and it offers a host of software features such as selfie lighting and also lets users directly access the TikTok app with a single swipe on the lock screen.

As for the specs, the Smartisan Jianguo Pro 3 comes with a 6.39-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with an HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, 403ppi pixel density and 100,000:1 contrast ratio.

Under the hood, the device gets powered by octa-core Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC- the coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and upto 256GB of inbuilt storage. That said, the storage is further expandable through the microSD card.

For photography, the phone gets a total of four cameras at the rear. This comprises of a 48-megapixel primary shooter with the Sony IMX586 sensor and an f/1.75 aperture, a 13-megapixel wide-angle camera with a 123-degrees field of view, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom support, and a 5-megapixel macro camera that can take shots of a subject as close as 2cm. For selfies, there is a 20-megapixel camera that employs the 4-in-1 pixel binning technology to deliver brighter photos.

On the connectivity front, the handset include 4G LTE, Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and Wi-Fi Direct. The device is backed by a 4,000mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 4+ (18W) fast charging technology and PD 3.0 as well through a USB Type-C charger. The phone measures 156.6 x 74.38 x 7.8mm and weighs 185 grams. It runs on Smartisan OS 7, however, the Android version on the phone is yet to be confirmed.

Smartisan Jianguo Pro 3 Price and Availability

The Smartisan Jianguo Pro 3 has launched in three storage and RAM variants. The base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage has been priced at CNY 2,899 (approx. Rs. 29,000) in China, while the 8GB + 256GB variant costs CNY 3,199 (approx. Rs. 32,000). Both these variants will be available in Black and White colour options. The premium variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is priced CNY 3,599 (approx. Rs. 36,000) and it comes in a green-ish Matsutake colour.

The smartphone is already up for sale in China with the first sale offering a discount of CNY 200 (approx. Rs. 2,000) on all variants. However, there is no word on the launch in other countries.
