Japanese brand Sony is working on the new smartphone that is powered by the Snapdragon 765G, called Xperia K8220. Qualcomm recently unveiled the new Snapdragon 765G chipset integrated with a 5G modem. A few days ago, Xiaomi launched the new Redmi K30 with the same SoC and we have many reports confirming other smartphone makers opted for it for their upcoming smartphones. Although the launch date for Sony’s phone with Snapdragon 765G not known for the time being, what can be assured is that Sony Xperia K8220 launch is nearing as the smartphone has now been spotted on Geekbench, which has revealed a few key specs of the device.
As per the GeekBench listing, the Sony Xperia K8220 smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 765G 1.80GHz octa-core processor. In addition to the chipset, the Geekbench listing also confirms that the smartphone will feature 8GB of RAM. The handset is loaded with Android 10 out-of-the-box. The benchmark results revealed the Sony Xperia K8220 scored 465 points in the single-core test and 1757 points in the multi-core test.
Snapdragon 765G SoC uses Qualcomm’s with generation AI engine and low-power Sensing Hub to give your device contextual awareness of voice commands, without excessive battery drain. The integrated ISP also supports multi-camera capture, allowing you to shoot from the primary, tele and wide-angle cameras simultaneously. It’s also capable of capturing 4K HDR videos too.

The Snapdragon 765 SoC uses the new Kryo 475 CPU cores, with speeds of up to 2.4GHz. There’s also an Adreno 620 GPU with a 20% bump in performance. The new Snapdragon 765G SoC offers improved graphics performance. We expect more Snapdragon 765G phones to show up in Q1 2020.
