| By DWR Editor

Reports suggest Sony‘s Xperia Ace II smartphone is in the works. A case render of the smartphone had leaked last week. It has now appeared on the Google Play Store listing, indicating that its launch could be imminent. Although the brand has not shared a launch date as of yet.

According to Google Play Console, Sony Xperia Ace II has MediaTek’s Helio P35 and it has 4GB of RAM. It will run on the Android 11 operating system. Sony Xperia Ace II’s image on the Google Play Console reveals that its display has a waterdrop notch. While details about the screen size aren’t known, it appears to support an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1496 pixels. This device is also listed on Google supported devices list with Xperia Ace II moniker and SO-41B model number.

CAD renders of a compact Sony phone were published by reliable tipster OnLeaks earlier this year. The renders showed a 5.5-inch display, along with a vertical dual camera setup and an LED flash on the back. Besides the side-mounted fingerprint scanner, the handset was also fitted with a dedicated camera button, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The Xperia Ace II case renders shown above were leaked recently. There are rumors that this device will only be sold in Japan. According to reports, it will replace the Xperia Ace phone, which was released back in 2019.
