Sony Xperia 5 II is scheduled to launch on September 17th and will succeed the Xperia 5 from last year. Now, ahead of the launch, renders and full specifications of the alleged Sony Xperia 5 II have leaked online, courtesy of a report from Android Headlines.
The renders give us a glimpse of what we can expect from the upcoming Sony smartphone ahead of its official launch in terms of design. As you can see in the image, the Sony Xperia 5 II looks identical to its predecessor, Xperia 5 that was launched in September last year.
As per the report, the Sony Xperia 5 II sports a 6.1-inch OLED display with Full HD+ and HDR support. The Xperia 5 II will be the Sony’s first phone to feature a 120Hz refresh rate display. The screen will also support the 240Hz touch sampling rate. It will be a compact device as it measures 158 x 68 x 8mm.
It is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 865 SoC SoC and comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. The storage is also further expandable.
As for the optics, the Sony Xperia 5 II will have triple cameras on the rear consisting of a 12MP primary camera (f/1.7) with a 24mm lens and 82-degrees FOV. It is assisted by a 12MP (f/2.4) telephoto snapper with 3x optical zoom support and a 12MP f/2.2 aperture superwide sensor with 124-degree FOV. The camera will support OIS, EIS, hybrid OIS/EIS in the video, slow-motion video shooting at 4K HDR, and 120fps 4K HDR video recording.
Apart from this, there’s could be a 4,000mAh battery to complete the device with USB-C PD rapid charging support. The phone will support 5G connectivity and will feature a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Unfortunately, the phone lacks 3.5mm audio jack.
