Samy Launched 32-inch Smart TV at Just Rs 4,999– Here’s Everything You Need to Know

| By DWR Editor

The Indian television market is filling with a dozen brands competing with each other, and picking only the top TV brands in India is not easy. Coming to the affordable TVs, Xiaomi launched few models at comparatively very less price that too with great features. Now, a new brand named Samy is set to challenge Xiaomi. The company has launched a 32-inch smart TV at just Rs.4,999. Yes. You heard it right!

Samy 32-inch Smart TV For INR 4,999 Excluding Taxes and Shipping

Almost all Indians look for their daily source of entertainment through movies, sports, and music – which are telecasted in TVs. Moreover, most of the Indians always prefer affordable devices with good specs. To compete with other affordable TV brands such as Xiaomi and VU, Samy launched a smart TV (32-inch) at just Rs. 4,999, but this pricing does not include taxes (18% GST) and shipping charges. Including those charges, the final purchase price of the TV lands approximately Rs. 7,000 to INR 8,000 in cities like Noida, Hyderabad, New Delhi, and others. Which is quite impressive. Right?

You must be wondering how this new company can provide smart TV in just Rs. 4999!. Well, the company says that they are trying to wing Make in India initiative by offering the product at such price and is also aiming at job creation. It plans to generate revenue through sales. There is no exact information on how the manufacturing process lands the device under such price bracket.

Coming to the specifications of Samy 32-inch Smart TV, it is claimed to ship with Android OS (Android 4.4 KitKat). The smart TV has an IPS HD panel with 1366 x 768 pixels resolution. There are 2 HDMI and 2 USB ports onboard along with a pair of 10W speakers, SRS Dolby Digital, a 5 Band Equalizer. Under the hood, the Smart TV has 512MB of RAM and 4GB storage. It is pre-loaded with few apps such as Facebook and YouTube while the users will be able to download more via Google Play Store. In the packaging, it comes with a remote and wall-mount accessory. The product weighs around 6Kgs. The company has also bundled up to 3 years warranty and 1 year of free onsite servicing. It will be selling the TV on a first-come-first-serve basis while the stocks last.

Interestingly, the Samy 32-inch smart TV was launched at an event in Constitution Club of India, New Delhi. Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) state executive member and vice-president of Mahila Morcha, Sonali Phogat, was the chief guest at the launch event. The company stated that it believes in the Make in India program.

How to Buy Samy 32-inch Smart TV

The Samy 32-inch smart TV is not available in any of the popular online e-commerce portals or official website. The product will be sold exclusively through the official Samy app. So, you will need to install the SAMY app on your Android phone and then you need to authenticate your Aadhar number before buying the TV. After validating the Aadhar, you need to fill a form to purchase the 32-inch Android TV. The final price of the Samy smart TV will depend on your state and the only available payment option is Cash on Delivery. We are somewhat suspicious of the entire Aadhar-linking process.

Points You Should Consider Before Buying a Samy 32-inch Smart TV

Remember the Ringing Bells Freedom 251 scam? The Freedom 251 also started under the name of Make in India initiative and you know what happened later! Samy never came into the media’s attention until they were ready with this product!

However, Smart TV under Rs. 8,000 price is not impossible as even some popular companies such as Xiaomi, Intex are already selling smart TVs at a starting price of Rs. 12,000 in India. However, we would like to suggest you wait for few days to know how the company delivers its promise. Also, the Aadhar verification process is erecting suspicion.
