After some leaks and rumors, South Korean giant Samsung has unveiled its another foldable smartphone, dubbed as Samsung W20 in China. The new Samsung W20 is the 5G version of the Galaxy Fold smartphone with some key changes. However the company is yet to reveal the price for the phone. But Samsung confirmed that it will be available for buyers in December this year. Notably, Samsung has not yet revealed details about the phone’s availability in markets outside China.
Samsung W20 Specifications
Samsung W20 5G foldable phone has a 7.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED display that offers 1536 x 2152 pixels resolution with an aspect ratio of 4.2:3. It also comes with HDR10+ support. Outside the phone, it features a 4.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED display that offers aspect ratio of 21:9.
Under the hood, you get a 2.96 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor. It is worth to mention that the regular Galaxy Fold was launched with Snapdragon 855 SoC. Furthermore, the listing reveals that the Samsung W20 5G foldable smartphone will pack a 4,235mAh battery, which is different from the 4380mAh battery of Galaxy Fold 4G. It is backed by a 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage.
For photography, it boasts a triple camera setup on the rear that comprises of 16-megapixel ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 aperture, a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera, with Dual Pixel AF, OIS, and variable f/1.5 to f/2.4 aperture; and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera with PDAF, OIS, an f/2.4 aperture, and 2X optical zoom. Up front, it has a dual camera with a combination of a 10-megapixel f/2.2 primary sensor and an 8-megapixel RBG depth camera with an f/1.9 aperture. At last, the cover camera is a 10-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture.
The new foldable phone comes equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The phone measures 160.9×117.9×6.9/15.7-17.1mm and weighs 276 grams. The connectivity options include 5G, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5, GPS with GLONASS, USB 3.1, NFC. Other key highlights on the phone are AKG-tuned speakers, glass-sandwich design, Dolby Atmos, Samsung DeX.
