In 2017, South Korean giant Samsung launched the Galaxy Xcover 4. Now, the brand has silently unveiled the Galaxy XCover 5 rugged smartphone as a successor. The Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 price is at GBP 329 (approx. Rs 33,300) for the lone 4GB RAM + 64GB storage option. The phone comes in single Black color options and it will be limited to select markets in Asia, Europe, and Latin America.

Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 boasts a 5.3-inch HD+ display with 1480 x 720 pixels resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by the octa-core Exynos 850 SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage that is further expandable via a microSD card slot. The phone runs on Android 11 out of the box and packs a 3,000mAh battery with support for 15W fast-charging. The battery also supports fast charging through USB and POGO pins. Connectivity features include 4G-LTE, Bluetooth 5, WiFi, GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS, NFC, a USB Type C port.
Moving to cameras, the Galaxy Xcover 5 has a single 16-megapixel camera with LED flash and f/1.8 aperture. It has a 5-megapixel snapper on the front with an f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video chats. It is equipped with a Glove-Touch feature for allowing users to use the phone while wearing gloves
The device is IP68 and MIL-STD 810G-certified. The rugged phone can withstand prolonged immersion in water at depths of up to 1.5 meters and is fully resistant to dust. Moreover, it can work in extreme temperatures, both low and high as guaranteed by US military standard MIL-STD 810H.
