Samsung Galaxy X foldable smartphone could cost up to $2,000 at launch

The long-rumored Samsung Galaxy foldable smartphone before its official unveiling at MWC 2019 a new report about Samsung’s foldable smartphone has surfaced online. According to the report by Korean Times, analysts from Shinhan Financial and Golden Bridge Investment is of the opinion that the part suppliers will start initial production keeping in mind the launch of 2019 and is expected to cost around 2 million Won (approximately Rs 135,000).

The analysts also suggested that the smartphone might come with an OLED screen that is 7.3-inch across when open and 4.5-inch when closed. This screen will be on the inside of the phone, so a secondary display will be on the outside so the phone can be used in folded or unfolded state. Samsung may only produce limited quantities of the Galaxy X, somewhere in the region of 300,000 – 500,000 to gauge market reaction before deciding whether or not to ramp up production.
