Samsung Galaxy S22 series launched in India: Price details

Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra made their Indian debuts via a live stream on the company’s social media channels today. The Galaxy S22 Ultra, the top-of-the-line model, comes with integrated S Pen support to deliver the Galaxy Note-like experience on the Galaxy S series. In India, the Galaxy S22 lineup is powered by Qualcomm‘s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC.

 

Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, Galaxy S22 Ultra price in India, availability

Samsung Galaxy S22 base model with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage is priced at Rs. 72,999 whereas the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant will retail at Rs. 76,999. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S22+ starts at Rs. 84,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and costs Rs. 88,999 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model. 

The Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ will be offered in India in three colours: Green, Phantom Black, and Phantom White, 

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, on the other hand, starts at Rs. 1,09,999 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage option. In addition, there is a top variant with 12GB RAM + 512GB storage available for Rs. 1,18,999. 

Samsung hasn’t yet revealed the sale date or availability details of the Galaxy S22 series in India. Currently, the phones are up for pre-orders in the country.

Galaxy S22 Ultra will retail in India in Burgundy, Phantom Black, and Phantom White colours for the 12GB + 256GB model while the 12GB + 512GB variant will go on sale in Burgundy and Phantom Black colours.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Specifications

Samsung Galaxy S22 runs Android 12-based One UI 4.1 skin. It features a 6.1-inch full-HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+, while the chassis is protected by Armor Aluminium. In addition, there is a Samsung Eye Comfort Shield for blue light control and an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate that can drop to as low as 10Hz. Samsung’s Galaxy S22 is powered by an octa-core 4nm SoC combined with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.

Samsung Galaxy S22 comes with a triple rear camera setup including a 50-megapixel primary Dual Pixel wide-angle sensor with an f/1.8 aperture lens and autofocus; a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture lens and a 120-degree field-of-view; and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera with an f/2.4 aperture lens featuring 3x optical zoom and optical image stabilization (OIS). The Galaxy S22 comes with a 10-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture lens and an 80-degree field of view.

Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port. In addition, the phone features an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. 

The Samsung Galaxy S22 is powered by a 3,700mAh battery that supports fast charging at 25W, in addition to supporting 15W wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare for reverse wireless charging. It measures 146×70.6×7.6mm and weighs 168 grams.

Samsung Galaxy S22+ specifications

Samsung Galaxy S22+ ships with Android 12 operating system with One UI 4.1 on top. There is a 6.6-inch full-HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with support for Samsung’s Eye Comfort Shield for blue light control and offers an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate that can drop to 10Hz and a peak brightness of 1,750 nits. The Galaxy S22+ runs on an octa-core 4nm SoC coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of onboard storage.

There are three rear cameras on the Samsung Galaxy S22+, including a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture lens and a 120-degree field-of-view, a 50-megapixel primary Dual Pixel autofocus wide-angle sensor with an f/1.8 aperture lens; and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, optical image stabilization (OIS) and an f/2.4 aperture lens. Samsung Galaxy S22 sports a 10-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture lens and an 80-degree field-of-view.

Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port. In addition, the device has an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. Samsung Galaxy S22 is equipped with a 4,500mAh battery that supports fast charging at 45W, 15W wireless charging as well as Wireless PowerShare for reverse wireless charging. It measures 157.4×75.8×7.6mm and weighs 196 grams.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra specifications

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is the first S-series smartphone to include an S Pen integrated into the body, offering 70 percent lower latency than its predecessor, the Galaxy S22 Ultra. The Galaxy S22 Ultra has a large 6.8-inch Edge QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate that can go down to 1Hz. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+ and supports a peak brightness level of 1,750 nits. Additionally, the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s display features updated Wacom technology in order to support the improvements to S Pen functionality including reduced latency. Featuring an octa-core 4nm SoC, it carries up to 12 GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB/1TB built-in storage.

Featuring a quad-camera setup, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra packs a 108-megapixel wide-angle camera with an f/1.8 aperture lens, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture lens, a 10-megapixel telephoto camera with an f/2.4 aperture lens, and support for 3x optical zoom alongside a 10-megapixel telephoto camera with an f/4.9 aperture lens and 10x optical zoom. There is a 40-megapixel camera sensor on the front of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra with an f/2.2 aperture.

It features 5G, 4G LTE, UWB, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port. It has an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. Samsung’s Galaxy S22 Ultra is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery with support for fast charging at 45W and supports wireless charging at 15W along with Wireless PowerShare for reverse wireless charging. The device runs Android 12 with One UI 4.1 skin. In terms of dimensions, the device measures 163.3×77.9×8.9mm and weighs 229 grams.
