Samsung Galaxy S21 to come with under-display selfie camera?

| By DWR Editor

Samsung is said to launch the flagship Galaxy S21 series in 2020. To recall, the brand has launched the Galaxy S20 series in February this year and For quite a long time many leaks related to the successor Galaxy S21 (aka S11) have been doing the rounds on the internet. Now as per a fresh report, Samsung Galaxy S21 could be arriving with an under-display camera.

As per the latest tweet by tipster Ice universe, Samsung is currently testing under-display front camera technology in the upcoming Galaxy S21. It mentions ‘Galaxy S21′ indicating that the next generation Galaxy S-series. It looks like Samsung is changing the naming sequence for its Galaxy-S line of flagships, so the Galaxy S11 may hit markets as the Samsung Galaxy S21.

Skipping the generation or whole series of numbers is not the new thing for any smartphone brand. Even Chinese smartphone brand Huawei did the same for the P10 and Honor 10 smartphones by skipping right ahead to 20.

Other smartphone makers including Xiaomi, Oppo, Nokia have been working on the under-display selfie camera technology for some time now. However, the issue here is the quality of pictures taken from the under-display selfie cameras which is less than desirable. The issue was insufficient lighting and pixel count in the area of the screen where the selfie camera is placed. However, as Samsung is known for the best OLED panels in the world, they can tackle the issues.

Since Samsung hasn’t confirmed this development officially, we suggest you take it with a pinch of salt for now.
