Samsung Galaxy S10 vs OnePlus 6T Comparison: How are they different?

Samsung recently launched the Galaxy S10, a new phone that has many notable upgrades on the lauded Galaxy S9. Its specs and features, along with the first punch-hole camera, make it a real contender to challenge other devices in the same price bracket.

We’ve pitted the new Galaxy S10 against a suitable rival OnePlus 6T. So, which should you plump for? Let’s take a look.

Design – Samsung Galaxy S10 vs OnePlus 6T

The Samsung S10 is the smaller of the pair at 149.9 x 70.4 x 7.8 mm and 157g. Compare that to the OnePlus 6T at 157.5 x 74.8 x 8.2mm and a slightly heavier 185g. Neither phone has any ugly branding on the front, nor do they have a home button. Around the front, both phones feature a minimal bezel with sizeable screens. The Galaxy S10 forgoes the trending ‘notch’ and has a punch-hole camera on the screen, whereas the OnePlus 6T has a waterdrop notch on the screen that houses the front camera. The OnePlus 6T comes with only Mirror Black option, the S10 comes in Prism White, Prism Black, Prism Green, Prism Blue.

Display – Samsung Galaxy S10 vs OnePlus 6T

The Samsung S10 has the smaller screen at 6.1 inches, but its Dynamic AMOLED display comes in 1440×3040 pixels resolutions which reach an impressive 551 ppi pixel density.

The OnePlus 6T has a bigger 6.41-inch 19.5:9 AMOLED display, though its 2340×1080 resolution and has only 402 ppi.

Camera – Samsung Galaxy S10 vs OnePlus 6T

The triple camera setup on the Galaxy S10 can take great pictures, no matter whether it’s light or dark, and the full suite of video and editing features make the entire package feel more complete. The device comes with a 10-megapixel camera on the front with F1.9 aperture. On the rear, it has 12 MP + 12 MP + 16 MP triple primary cameras.

Unlike the Galaxy S10, the OnePlus 6T comes with dual rear cameras. One is a 16-megapixel main sensor and the other sits at 20 megapixels. These two sensors work together to offer improved low-light performance on the device.

Both the smartphones come with the latest flagship processors. The new Samsung Galaxy S10 is powered by the more powerful, Samsung’s own Exynos 9 Octa 9820 processor whereas the OnePlus 6t is fuelled by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC. Both smartphones can handle multitasking and high-end games easily and smoothly.

RAM and Storage – Samsung Galaxy S10 vs OnePlus 6T

OnePlus 6T and Galaxy S10 come in two RAM variants of 6GB and 8GB. Furthermore, both the phones have 128GB, 256GB and 512GB internal storage variants. Although Samsung’s flagship also benefits from expandable storage while the OnePlus 6T doesn’t support microSD card.

Software

The Samsung Galaxy S10 runs on Samsung’s own One UI custom OS based on the latest Android 9 Pie whereas the OnePlus 6T runs on the Oxygen OS on the top based on the Android 9 Pie.

Battery – Samsung Galaxy S10 vs OnePlus 6T

Battery sizes are nearly similar across both devices. The Galaxy S10 comes with the 3400 mAh battery inside whereas you’ll find a 3700mAh cell tucked inside the OnePlus 6T. Both phones charge via USB-C and include some form of fast charging. OnePlus 6T has Dash charge support and Galaxy S10 supports wireless Qi charging.

Water resistance – Samsung Galaxy S10 vs OnePlus 6T

The Galaxy S10 is indeed water resistant. Samsung’s new flagships have an IP68 rating. But the OnePlus 6T is just splash proof. But the company claims that the OnePlus 6T is more water resistant than any of its predecessors, and it can survive an accidental drop in the sink or a splash during a rainstorm.
