Samsung Galaxy S10 to Feature Qualcomm’s Third-Generation Ultrasonic Fingerprint Sensor

The Korean media reported that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10 will boast the third-generation ultrasonic fingerprint sensors from Qualcomm.

Another report from ETnews also claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S10 will be arriving with third-generation ultrasonic fingerprint sensors from Qualcomm, under its display. The third-generation of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Sense ID technology is first introduced back in 2015 by the company. Besides this, Qualcomm will likewise be working intimately with Taiwan-based segment providers, General Interface Solutions (GIS) and O-Film to meet Samsung’s enormous demands.

So, the Samsung Galaxy S10 will be one of the first smartphones to feature Qualcomm’s third-generation ultrasonic sensor. This ultrasonic sensor has the capability to accurately work through glass up to 800 microns thick, the second generation of Qualcomm’s ultrasonic sensor was a significant improvement over the first-gen sensor that could work through glass up to 300 microns thick.

The third-generation sensor likewise works in clammy conditions, and is required to will offer a large number of functionalities, for example, observing heartbeat and bloodstream, alongside supporting navigational gesture recognition.

Some reports suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S10 will be unveiled at next year’s Mobile World Congress, expected to take place in Barcelona during February 2019.
