Samsung Galaxy Quantum 2 debuts with 120Hz Infinity-O AMOLED display, Snapdragon 855+ SoC

Samsung has taken the wraps off its latest Galaxy Quantum 2 smartphone. Priced at 699,600 South Korean Won (KRW) which translates to Rs 46,945, the phone comes in a single 6GB RAM/128GB storage variant. The smartphone is already up for pre-orders in Korea from SK Telecom and it will go on sale from April 23rd. The company is likely to introduce this phone as Galaxy A82 for the global markets.

The phone has a quantum random number generation (QRNG) chipset for security purposes. The company stated that “the quantum random number generation chipset helps to use security-critical services such as authentication, finance, and messengers more safely by generating unpredictable and unpatterned pure random numbers,”

Samsung Galaxy Quantum 2 has a 6.7-inch Quad HD+ Infinity-O display that has a Full HD+ resolution of 3200 x 1440 pixel, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and a 120Hz refresh rate. It boots Android 11 with One UI 3.1 skin.

As expected, there is Qualcomm’s 855+ processor under the hood with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of native storage. The memory can be further expandable to up to 1TB with microSD. For the cameras, the Samsung Galaxy Quantum 2 has a 64MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture and it comes along with a 12MP ultra-wide lens with f/2.2 aperture and a 5MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The front-facing camera is a 10-megapixel one with an f/2.2 aperture.

There is a 4500mAh inside the device and it supports 25W fast charging via a USB-C port. The phone comes with connectivity options like dual-SIM support, 5G SA / NSA, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ax (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth 5, NFC, Samsung Pay. The smartphone measures 161.9mm x 73.8mm x 8.1mm and weighs 176 grams.
