Samsung Galaxy M10 First impressions:A budget Galaxy challenger to take on Xiaomi

The Much anticipated Samsung’s Galaxy M line up has finally launched that marking a restart of Samsung’s budget smartphone segment. The new Samsung Galaxy M series is specially designed to give a rival to likes of Xiaomi, Honor ad Asus budget smartphones. Samsung launched two Galaxy M series smartphones namely-Samsung Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 smartphone in an affordable price yet packed with the best features true to be fall under value for money smartphones.

Far from few months Samsung almost lost its grip on its budget range smartphones and the last smartphone from the company Galaxy J series. Now the company again kickstart its affordable smartphone with the new Galaxy M series. These smartphones are announced in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 7,990.

Speaking about Galaxy M10, it got a classy feature with an entry-level design and comes in two storage variants M10 2GB RAM/16GB storage variant is priced at Rs 7,990 and the 3GB RAM/32GB storage variant is retailing at Rs 8,990. The smartphone is already up for sale in
Amazon.in or Samsung.com.

Design and Infinity -V Display:

In terms of design, At such a price it got a good entry level design while there is nothing to say about it is made out of plastic which appears to be slightly low in quality still it withstands fall from certain height. It got an eye-catchy glossy rear panel which feels pleasant to look at it.

On the placement of physical buttons, The Samsung Galaxy M10’s left panel has the SIM card tray and the right panel has the volume rockers and the power key. he 3.5mm headphone jack for headphones connectivity and a micro USB port for charging and data transfers are placed at the bottom panel of the smartphone.

On the rear side, you will be able to see a dual-lens camera setup which is stacked vertically on the top left corner. Just below the camera is the LED flash which will help you to capture low-light images. Unfortunately, it doesn’t bear a Fingerprint scanner like all the trending phones.
Talking about Display, The big change in the for Samsung in M lineup is the all-new notch display, dubbed ‘Infinity-V’.To recall, Samsung has released its new display panels including the Infinity-O, Infinity-V and Infinity U display back in 2018. This is the first smartphone from the company to sport an Infinity display V looks alike a waterdrop-style notch display.

 

The Galaxy M10 flaunts a 6.2-inch HD+ Infinity-V display. The display offers an optimum screen brightness which does not tend to stress the eyes even with maximum brightness levels. While streaming videos on YouTube, the display will max out at 720 pixels which offer good picture quality.

 Battery and Dual-Camera for Millennials

The smartphone with such a price tag got a dual camera setup at its rear side with a super ultra-wide (120 degree) feature. They also come with a 13-megapixel primary rear camera that has an f/1.9 aperture, while the secondary camera is a 5-megapixel ultra-wide lens. For selfies and video calling, Samsung has used 5-megapixel camera hat has an aperture of f/2.0.

The pictures captured by the phone gives minimal details. The camera is not the best part in M10 to talk about. You will be able to notice some noise in the images shot in dark, low dynamic range and washed out results in bright lights. And while the wide-angle lens also captures sub-par pictures, it’s a good addition and will come quite handy to capture landscape shots.

The Galaxy M10 backed up by a decent 3,400mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery unit. On a single charge, the phone can last more than half a day. You can get a standard 5V charger that takes 2 hours for a full charge of the phone.

Hardware  internals: Exynos 7870 chipset:

The Samsung Galaxy M 10 is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7870 chipset a suitable midrange processor by the company. The Processor is base on 14nm architecture and it clocks at 1.6GHz.

There is a 3GB of RAM that takes care of all smooth performance. For memory, the device offers a total internal space of 32GB which you can expand later to up to 512GB via an external microSD card slot.
The smartphone works perfectly on light graphics games and some general tasks such as internet surfing, streaming videos.

Software with Samsung’s clean Experience UI:

The device is preloaded by an Android 8.1.0 Oreo out-of-the-box based on Samsung Experience 9.5 skin on top. The smartphone offers a clean UI which is easy to operate and gives a smooth user experience. The gadget might also receive the Android Pie update in August this year. The new Experience UI is smooth and works just fine for most of the part.

Verdict:

With this Galaxy M-line up Samsung seems to cater more customers by bearing a best feature packed phone at an affordable price. Compared to previous midrange smartphone the company got a huge leap with its recent smartphones . Both the Galaxy M10 and the Galaxy M20 offers some impressive set of specifications and features which makes them a good rival against the other affordable smartphones like Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro, Redmi Note 6 Pro, ZenFone Max Pro M2, and others.
