Samsung Galaxy A2 Core Launched in India: Samsung’s Second Android Go Phone, Specifications and Price

South Korean smartphone brand Samsung has finally announced its latest Android Go edition smartphone ‘Galaxy A2 Core‘ for the Indian market. The device was launched in India and it will be available in offline stores as well. The Galaxy A2 Core runs on Android Go edition based on Android 9 Pie which is made for handsets with low-end specifications.

The device features a 5-inch qHD display with a 960x540pixels resolution. It is powered by a company’s own Exynos 7870 chipset clocked at 1.6GHz, paired with 1GB of RAM and 16 of internal storage. The device also has a microSD slot for further expansion of storage.

For shooting photos, you get a 5-megapixel sensor at the back with LED flash and a 5-megapixel sensor on the front. Other features include a micro USB port, dual-SIM, 4G LTE, VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi. Powering the device is a 2,600mAh battery.

Samsung has set the Galaxy A2 Core at a price of Rs 5,290 making it the most affordable smartphone in the Galaxy lineup. However, the company hasn’t revealed the price of the device till now. The pricing information of the Galaxy A2 Core comes from Mumbai based retailer Mahesh Telecom. To recall, Xiaomi recently unveiled an Android Go smartphone and it is retailing at just Rs. 4,499.

The Xiaomi Redmi Go is powered by Android Oreo (Go edition), and the phone comes with Go versions of Google’s apps. The smartphone has a 5-inch HD display bearing an aspect ratio of 16:9. Powering the device is a Snapdragon 425 processor, aided by 1GB of RAM. The internal storage capacity onboard is 8GB, which can be further expanded via microSD card.

For optics, the handset has an 8-megapixel primary camera with an aperture of f/2.0 at the rear, assisted by an LED flash. The back camera also supports 1080p Full HD recording. On the front, there’s a 5-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture. A 3000mAh battery fuels the package.
