Samsung confirms foldable phone launch on its “Unpacked “ event

Samsung biggest event “UnPacked” unveil is just a few days away which is expected to launch three models of Samsung S10 series smartphones up to now. But now the company gave us a glimpse of its foldable phone which showcased last in November to take the limelight of the event by its presence. To recall, The company agave a brief look of its first foldable smartphone in Developer conference to an only a limited audience. And now, It looks like Samsung will indeed launch the Foldable phone which is called Galaxy Fold on February 21 alongside Galaxy S10.

Samsung recently released its teaser video on its Twitter by a caption” “The future of mobile will unfold on February 20, 2019.” which hints the launch of foldable smartphone inevitable. As per teaser video clip, it doesn’t reveal anything about the foldable smartphone but only hints with the text that reads “The Future Unfolds”.However, Samsung is not the first to introduce a foldable phone. It is ZTE which took the credit nad beat all the major smartphone makers to launch a foldable smartphone when it introduced the Axon M in late 2017. Sadly, the device was not perfect but it managed to show what a foldable smartphone could look like and its potential benefits.

Early this month, The company showed its foldable smartphone in a concept video that gave us an idea of what the phone might look like. The foldable phone sports two display one that measures 4.58-inch(on closed), and the other that measures 7.3-inch(On Open).

While the smaller display will flaunt on the outer cover of the phone and have an aspect ratio of 21:9 and a resolution of 1960 x 480 pixels. The larger display, on the other hand, will have an aspect ratio of 4.2:3 along with a resolution of 2152 x 1536 pixels.

It is speculated that Samsung will not want to affect the sales of Samsung S10 which will kick off its sale on March 8th so the foldable smartphone sale will be delayed for some time it seems. There were reports that the first batch of foldable smartphones from Samsung will be limited to just 1 million units.

We are just a few days away from the Samsung Unpacked event so we look forward to seeing what Samsung’s foldable phone will bring on its big event.
