Samsung has finally announced its first Android Go Edition phone after a lot of rumours and leaks as it is no surprise it is first launched in India. The phone called Galaxy J2 core.
The corporate says that the smartphone will be available in India and Malaysia starting today. But up to now, there is no info regarding its Price. By considering all its specs and being a part of the Android Go platform, What we can expect is the price is in between Rs 6000 to 7000.
According to the previous leaks, The Android Go is a stripped-down version of the operating system with lighter versions of Google apps and optimizations for lower-end devices, where it still have a layer of Samsung UI on top. The Samsung Galaxy J2 Core is purely based on Android 8.1 Oreo but not Android 9 Pie Go version.
Android Go phone goes in the entry-level segment that aims market which looking for low-cost smartphones. The device comes preloaded with a host of Google Go apps like Gmail Go, Google Maps Go, Assistant Go, Gboard Go, and YouTube Go to name a few.
Google had in its mind about India to target the “next billion users” to come online in developing markets. We have already seen a few Android Go phones unveiled this year like the Nokia 1, Nokia 2.1 and Micromax Bharat Go.
Samsung Galaxy J2 Core specifications
Talking about specifications, the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core sports a 5-inch TFT display with 540×960 pixels resolution. It is hooked by an Exynos 7570 SoC. As this phone mainly target common users where Android Go is designed for phones that are low on RAM and storage. The Galaxy J2 Core brings 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. To be said you can’t play Fortnite on this Galaxy smartphone despite of its limited storage, memory, and battery capacity.
For Photos, the smartphone is equipped with an 8-megapixel f/2.2 snapper at the back. Up front, there is a 5-megapixel f/2.2 snapper for selfies and video chats. Unlike all trending phone, it is fuelled with a 2,600mAh battery. In terms of connectivity,the smartphone include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (2.4GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, USB 2.0, GPS, and Glonass.
