Samsung Announced Its Second Android Go phone, Galaxy J4 Core

Samsung has silently unveiled its second Android Go phone named Galaxy J4 Core. The smartphone is listed on Samsung’s official site, there is no word on pricing or availability yet from the company. In August of this year, the company had unveiled their first Android Go phone named Galaxy J2 Core. Now the successor has been launched nearly after 1.5 months.

 

Samsung Galaxy J4 Core Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy J4 Core features a 6.0-inch display with a resolution of 720×1480 pixels. The device is powered by the quad-core Snapdragon 425 SoC clocked at a frequency of 1,4GHz, paired with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The internal storage can be expandable via microSD card up to 512GB. The device has a 3,300mAh battery and runs on the Android Oreo 8.1 (Go edition).

Google’s Android Go Edition was announced May last year, at the developer conference. The Go edition of Android is a more light-weight and it is designed to work better on low-end smartphones with 512MB to 1GB RAM. It is designed to give powerful experience for entry-level smartphones. The Galaxy J4 Core comes with optimised apps for lower-end hardware to improve the user experience. These apps include Assistant Go, Files Go, Gboard, Gmail Go, Google Go, Maps Go, YouTube Go, Samsung data consumption control. Android Oreo Go edition features new apps designed for lighter updates and downloads help create more space while significantly improving performance.

Coming to the camera, Samsung Galaxy J4 Core comes with an 8-megapixels rear-facing camera and has a 5-megapixels front-facing selfie camera.

The device measures 160.6×76.1×7.9 mm and weighs 177g. Sensors on the smartphone include an accelerometer and proximity sensors. In terms of connectivity, the Galaxy J4 Core supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (2.4GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, a USB 2.0 port, GPS, Glonass and BeiDou.

Even though the Galaxy J4 core is already listed on Samsung’s official site, there is no word on pricing or availability yet from the company. We can expect the company to announce it soon.
