Jio announced its new budget smartphone at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) earlier this year. The Jio Phone Next, Reliance Jio’s budget 4G smartphone, is being positioned as an entry-level device ideal for those who are new to Android and its smart features. Reliance’s Managing Director Mukesh Ambani announced the phone will be available on September 10. Due to component shortages, the launch has been delayed until Diwali 2021. Now, the Reliance Jio Phone Next launch date has been announced.
Jio Phone Next Specifications, Price in India
Jio is all set to launch a new budget smartphone on November 4, the day of Diwali. At the event, Jio will reveal the official pricing of the Jio Phone Next. Reliance developed the phone in partnership with Google and Qualcomm, and it is expected to launch around Rs 3,499 in India.
The company confirmed some of the device’s key features but hasn’t revealed any major specifications. The device will run a custom version of Android and offer features such as automatic read-aloud of screen text, language translation, Google Assistant, smart camera, augmented-reality features, among other things. Since it is a Jio Phone, it will also come pre-installed with Jio apps, such as JioTV, MyJio, Jio Saavn, and so on.
The Jio Phone Next is expected to include Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 215 SoC, 2GB of RAM, and up to 32GB of internal storage. However, the company may also introduce a 3GB RAM variant that would cost slightly more.
It will have a 13MP single camera on the back. On the front, there will be an 8MP camera. The new budget smartphone from Reliance will also have a 5.5-inch HD+ screen with a resolution of 720 x 1440, a 2,500 mAh battery, and a micro-USB port for charging.
