Xiaomi is reportedly set to add a new variant to its Redmi Note 9 smartphone. The upcoming Redmi Note 9 that is launching in India on 20 July, will be available in 6GB RAM variant as well.
A report by GizmoChina states that Xiaomi is planning to release the 6GB RAM variant of the smartphone in India skipping the 3GB RAM model. To recall, the company has unveiled the Note 9 globally back in April this year in two variants: 3GB RAM + 64GB storage and 4GB RAM + 128GB storage. It will be available in Forest Green, Polar White, and Midnight Grey colors.

Redmi Note 9 Specifications
To recall, the Redmi Note 9 comes with a 6.53-inch full-HD+ display that offers HD+ screen resolution of 1,080×2,340 pixels. Under the hood, it is powered by the octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 processor, coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.
For imaging, it has a quad rear camera setup along with a 48-megapixel Samsung GM1 primary shooter, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and two 2-megapixel lenses. For selfies, the phone has a 13-megapixel camera.
There’s a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for added security. For connectivity options, it supports Wi-Fi, USB Type-C port, Bluetooth, 3.5mm audio jack, NFC (select markets), infrared (IR) blaster, GPS, A-GPS, and more. It runs the latest Android 10-based MIUI 11 skin and is powered by a 5,020mAh battery that supports 18W charging.
To talk about the price, the Redmi Note 9 has been priced at $199 (approx. Rs 15,100) for the base model with 3GB RAM + 64GB storage while its 4GB RAM + 128GB storage model is priced at $249 (approx. Rs. 18,900). While the Indian pricing is not yet known, we expect the smartphone to be priced similarly in India.
