Xiaomi unveiled the new Redmi Note 8, Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphones yesterday in home-country China and these phones powers Snapdragon 665 and MediaTek Helio G90T respectively. Interestingly, the smartphone was able to achieve an amazing score in AnTuTu benchmark and looks all set to give tough competition to other phones in the same price segment.
According to the report, the Redmi Note 8 Pro which runs on the MediaTek Helio G90T SoC have scored massive points. The device gained 282,443 points in the overall AnTuTu score, which overpassed Kirin 810 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 730. The CPU scored 96,805, while the GPU scored 79,688 on AnTuTu.
To recall, this gaming-centric SoC was launched by MediaTek recently and this new chipset consists of eight cores – four Cortex A76 and four Cortex A55. The chipset is accompanied by an Arm Mali-G76 3EEMC4.
Redmi Note 8 Pro Specifications, Price and Availability
The all-new Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with 6.53-inch (1,080 x 2,340 pixels) display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and a screen-to-body ratio of 91.4 percent. Both the front and back of the phone are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Under the hood, it is fuelled by the octa-core MediaTek Helio G90T SoC and gets up to 8GB of RAM. It runs MIUI 10 skin which is based on Android 9 Pie. Xiaomi also added few more gaming features like Game Turbo 2.0 mode. The company will also be selling a game controller for the phone.
For photography, the phone gets a 64-megapixel main camera, 8-megapixel wide-angle shooter and two 2-megapixel cameras. For selfies, there’s a 20-megapixel camera. It packs a 4,500mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging technology.
The Redmi Note 8 Pro is priced at RMB 1,399 (approx. Rs 14,000) for the 6GB RAM and 64GB storage option. Thee is also a 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant which is priced at RMB 1,599 (approx. Rs 16,000). The top-end 8GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration costs RMB 1,799 (approx. Rs 18,000). It will go on the first sale on September 3.
