Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro are the much-teased upcoming new smartphones from the Chinese brand Xiaomi. The company has already confirmed that the Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro smartphones will be announced on August 29 alongside the Redmi TV. Moreover, both the devices are confirmed to pack MediaTek’s recently launched Helio G90T SoC. But just days ahead of its formal launch, General Manager of Redmi, Lu Weibing, has teased the benchmark scores of the Helio G90T that powers Note 8 series devices.

As we mentioned, Lu Weibing through his Weibo account teased the AnTuTu benchmark scores of the upcoming Redmi Note 8 series phones that are fuelled by the Helio G90T chipset. The upcoming smartphone uses MediaTek Helio G90T that is claimed to have surpassed the benchmark results of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710 but falls short of matching Huawei Kirin 810 SoC. In AnTuTu, the Kirin 710 processor scores the highest – 301,419. In comparison, the Helio G90T scores 283,333 in AnTuTu and lastly the Snapdragon 710 chip gets 214,739 points in the performance test. This benchmark score confirms the MediaTek Helio G90T is much powerful than the Snapdragon 710 that powers the Redmi Note 7 Pro and Realme 3 Pro.

Xiaomi will be launching the Redmi Note 8, Note 8 Pro and the Redmi TV in China on August 29. The company is yet to reveal the launch date for the India launch. The company already confirmed to launch Note 8 series in India sometime in Q4, 2019. We expect the company to announce the exact India launch date of the Redmi Note 8 series in the next few months.

The Helio G90T has an octa-core CPU that comprises ARM Cortex-A76 and Cortex-A55 cores at a maximum clock speed of 2.05GHz. The SoC also has Mali-G76 3EEMC4 GPU clocked at up to 800MHz. It also features HyperEngine game technology which brings support for an array of functions that should improve the overall gameplay experience. Its other features include up to 90Hz displays, 10GB RAM, and 64-megapixel primary sensor on a quad camera setup.
