An FCC listing has revealed the specifications of the Redmi Note 8 (2021). While Xiaomi recently released its Redmi Note 10 lineup in India, it looks like the brand is likely to update some older devices with new specs. It has been reported that a Redmi Note 8 (2021) device appeared on several certification sites such as FCC and EEC, suggesting it is under development.
XDA Developers’ Kacper Skrzypek shared on Twitter that a Xiaomi device with the model number M1908C3JGG was spotted on the FCC certification site. According to the tipster, this model number is associated with Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 8 (2021).

As per the FCC listing, the handset will be fuelled by MediaTek’s Helio G85 SoC. It will run on a 4,000mAh battery and runs on MIUI 12.5 skin out of the box. European EEC certification also revealed the same model number.
It is further noted that Redmi Note 8 will not be released in India, Indonesia, and Turkey. The codename of the device is Biloba, and it is expected to launch in international, European, and Russian markets.
Talking about the specs, the Redmi Note 8 (2021) will have MediaTek Helio G85 SoC under the hood with a 4,000mAh battery that supports 22.5W fast charging. The Redmi Note 8 (2021) is expected to come with a quad-camera setup that includes a 48-megapixel main sensor, an ultra-wide sensor, another depth sensor, and a tele-macro lens. In addition to the full-HD+ screen and 60Hz refresh rate, Xiaomiui has also seen references to a 120Hz refresh rate, possibly coming in the Redmi Note 8 2021. In addition to 4GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB storage options, the phone is said to have a waterdrop notch. The device is expected to feature Wi-Fi 802.11 ac and Bluetooth v5.
