Redmi Note 7 Pro to Launch with 48MP Sony IMX586 Sensor

Xiaomi finally launched its much-awaited Redmi Note 7 smartphone with a massive 48-megapixel main camera at an event in China, yesterday. This is the first phone from Xiaomi’s another Sub-brand Redmi. This camera centric phone comes with an unbelievable starting price of $150 (approximately Rs 10,500).

The 48-megapixel lens on the Redmi Note 7 uses a Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 sensor. But in the launch event, the company hinted at the Redmi Note 7 Pro will have a Sony’s IMX586 sensor powered 48-megapixel camera on the rear.

According to the XDA Developers, the Sony IMX586 is suitable for low-light photo enhancement. It uses ‘pixel binning’ to combine four adjacent pixels into one for low-light shots. It significantly improves the quality of photos shot in low-light conditions. This means that the upcoming Redmi Note 7 Pro will have a great camera for low-light photography.

XDA developers report suggests that this phone will be released around the Chinese New year, which means that the smartphone could arrive early next month. Although there is no pricing information, given the unbelievable price tag for Redmi Note 7, the upcoming Redmi Note 7 Pro is expected to arrive with a surprising price.

To recall, the Redmi Note 7 sports a 6.3-inch FHD+ display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved glass. The device backs 4,000mAh battery which is compatible with 18 watts quick, wired charging.

Redmi Note 7 features a whopping 48-megapixel (Samsung GM1 sensor) camera on the back which has an aperture of f/1.8 and secondary camera of 5-megapixel for depth-sensing. Up front, there is a 13-megapixel selfie camera with standard beauty and AI modes.

Connectivity options on the Redmi Note 7 include USB Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.
