The last release of the Redmi Note 7 and Note 7 Pro by Xiaomi has taken the smartphone industry by storm. After the China launch, the company had been posting several durability test videos where the Redmi Note 7 was thrown down the stairs, used as skates, cutting board, and also used for smashing walnuts. Even though the device survived in those company’s tests, it fails YouTuber’s bend test. Yes. The device has been put through the scratch, heat, and bend test, and surprisingly the smartphone fails miserably in the last bit.
Popular YouTuber JerryRigEverything’s Redmi Note 7 durability test video begins with the scratch test, and it is seen that the device finally bears scratches at Moh level 6. JerryRigEverything’s test revealed some weak spots around the power key and next to the SIM tray. Even though the back of the phone is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, it failed to help the device from shattering into pieces. Ultimately, the device cracked and both its glasses on the front and rear snapped.
