Redmi K50 Gaming Edition launched; features 120Hz OLED display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1

Xiaomi has officially launched its Redmi K50 Gaming Edition in China. This gaming-centric phone features a 120Hz OLED display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, 120W fast charging, quad speakers, and magnetic gaming triggers.

In addition, Xiaomi has announced the Redmi K50 AMG F1 Champion Edition alongside a partnership with Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team. The key highlights of this special edition are 12GB RAM, 256GB storage, and a 120W GaN charger. Besides the design, both devices have the same specifications.

Redmi K50 Gaming Edition Price

The special-edition Redmi K50 AMG F1 Champion Edition comes with 12GB RAM + 256GB storage and it is priced at 4,199 yuan (approx. Rs 49,700).

Currently, there are no details about the international availability of the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition.

Redmi K50 Gaming Edition Specifications

Redmi K50 Gaming Edition offers a 6.67-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, a 480Hz touch sampling rate, and the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and offers up to 12GB LPPDDR5 RAM and 256GB (UFS 3.1) storage. It has 4860mm large dual vapor chambers and large-area graphite to keep the temperature down.

In terms of optics, the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition smartphone has a triple rear camera setup. There is a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 primary sensor with an f/1.65 aperture. In addition, there is an 8-megapixel 119° ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and a 2-megapixel macro shooter with f/2.4 aperture. This device has a 20-megapixel Sony IMX596 camera for selfies.

The phone has a 4700mAh battery and supports 120W fast charging. The company claims that the phone can be charged up to 100% in 17 minutes. Software-wise, it runs MIUI 13 based on Android 12. Among the connectivity options are 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.

The device also features a side-facing fingerprint sensor, Infrared sensor, JBL four-unit speaker, magnetic power pop-up shoulder key 2.0, and CyberEngine ultra-wideband X-axis motor. It measures 162.5x 76.7 x 8.5mm and weighs 210 grams.
